The lyric for "Be Thou My Vision" is based on the Irish text "Rop tú mo Baile" which is believed to have been written by Dallán Forgaill in the 6th century. So this is probably be the oldest lyric I have ever posted on this blog. This has become a popular song, and there are many performances of it, but none of them can compare to this version by Alison Krauss.
