In the Bleak Midwinter

This seems like an appropriate song for the winter solstice. Chrissie Hynde with the Blind Boys of Alabama performing "In the Bleak Midwinter", based on a poem by Christina Rossetti in response to a request from the magazine Scribner's Monthly for a Christmas poem.

The Pretenders

I started the week off with music from the 1980's, so I will just continue on in that vein with some video's from The Pretenders. I saw Chrissie Hynde perform with the current version of The Pretenders a couple years ago. Unfortunately, her sound system sucked. It sounded like she was singing with her head in a bucket of water. Maybe I will get a chance to see her again sometime, when I can actually hear her.

My favorite Pretenders song, "Brass in Pocket".
