Since today is Shawn Colvin's 60th birthday, here she is performing "Tougher Than The Rest".

Happy Birthday Emmylou
Today is Emmylou Harris' 65th birthday. She has more posts on this blog than anyone else, so I had to look around for something new to post today. Here she duets with Shawn Colvin on "Love and Happiness"—a song Harris co-wrote.

Harmony
I feel like some harmony today.
Emmylou Harris, Dolly Parton and Linda Ronstadt perform Neil Young's "After the Goldrush"
Jim & Jesse McReynolds - "I Wonder Where You Are Tonight"
Shawn Colvin and Alison Krauss perform Paul Simon's song "The Boxer"

Buddy Miller
Buddy Miller has probably been included on more videos on this blog than anyone else. Often he has been playing guitar and was not credited. So it is only fair that he gets his own post. The first two songs are off Buddy & Julie Miller's latest album, Written in Chalk.
"Chalk" was included in my 2009 Favorites Post, but here is a version of the song where Buddy duets with Patty Griffin. This is the way the song was recorded for the album.
"Gasoline & Matches" with Patty Griffin, Emmylou Harris and Shawn Colvin
From the album Universal United House of Prayer, my favorite Buddy Miller song, "Wide River to Cross".

Emmylou Harris - Trios
Emmylou Harris is one of the best harmony singers ever. In addition to recording two trio albums with Dolly Parton and Linda Ronstadt, she has recorded and performed with numerous other artists.
Here are three videos with three totally different trio combinations.
"Are You Tired of Me My Darling" is an old Carter Family song that Emmylou and Iris Dement recorded with Nanci Griffith for Nanci's Other Voices/Other Rooms album.
This is one of my favorite videos on all of YouTube. Emmylou, Mary Black and Dolores Keane performing "Sonny".
The last two videos where from back in the 1990's. Here is a video from a recent Three Girls and their Buddy concert. Emmylou, Patty Griffin and Shawn Colvin singing Patty's song "Mary".
