Marshall Grant (1928-2011)

Marshall Grant, Johnny Cash's bassist from 1954 to 1980, has died. His bass playing was an integral part of the sound that Cash created.

Here Grant tells how it all started.

Here are a couple videos of Grant playing with Cash.

"Ring of Fire"

"I Was There When It Happened" - In this video Grant and Luther Perkins, the Tennessee Two, also sing with Johnny.
