Rattlin' Bones

What better to post on Halloween than Kasey Chambers and Shane Nicholson performing "Rattlin' Bones". Two Aussies at the Americana Music Awards.

Pony

I think I have probably posted a version of this before, but here is a great video of Kasey Chambers performing her song, "Pony".

In the Air

Kasey Chambers performs part of the old Phil Collins song "In the Air" with an Indian flavor.

"The Roof is Leaking" is my favorite Phil Collins song. I don't know why no one ever covers it. I would like to hear Paolo Nutini sing it.

Little Bird

A couple songs from Kasey Chambers' recent album, Little Bird. The album has been out almost a year in Australia, but only recently came out in the States. "Love Like a Hurricane", which I posted last week (8/26/11}, is also off this album.

Hurricane

I missed my chance to do an earthquake post earlier in the week, so I am doing a hurricane post now in case we lose power, and I can't do one later.

"Love Like a Hurricane" - Kasey Chambers & Kevin Bennett

"Eye of the Hurricane" - David Wilcox

"Hurricane Winslow" - The Revivalists. No decent live version of this song, so just audio.

Kasey Chamber & Shane Nicholson

Having now done so many posts on this blog, it seems that I have started remembering doing post that I have not actually done. I was sure that I had previously done a complete post on Kasey Chambers & Shane Nicholson. I have posted a couple of their videos, but in looking back, I don't seem to have given them a complete post. So here it is now.

I saw Kasey Chamber a couple years ago, before she married Shane Nicholson. They recently put out an album—Rattlin' Bones—together. I think that Chambers has more recently put out a solo album, but it does not seem to be available from the U.S. iTunes Store. Both Chambers and Nicholson are from Australia.

He is an older Kasey Chambers song, with Nicholson playing piano on it, "The Captain".

The title track off their album, "Rattlin' Bones".

Another great song off Rattlin' Bones, "Sweetest Waste of Time".

Ponies

Most of my posts recently have been focused on a single artist or group, but I am going to try to start doing more posts based on a theme. Today songs about ponies.

First, Kasey Chamber's song "Pony".

Here is Lyle Lovett with "If I had a Pony".

This performance, of the Bill Monroe classic "Molly and Tenbrooks", is by a combination of two groups, Bearfoot and 49 Special. I don't know anything about 49 Special, but I did see Bearfoot perform at the Kennedy Center a while back.

Flowers

Variations on a theme. Also the three videos in this post come from three different Continents.

From Australia, Kasey Chambers & Shane Nicholson doing their song "Wildflower".

From the USA, Sarah Lee Guthrie & Johnny Irion doing their song "When The Lilacs Are In Bloom".

And my favorite singer from Yorkshire, Kate Rusby doing "Blooming Heather".
