A lot of singers cover Hank Williams, but here is one of the least expected. Bernadette Peters performing "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry". This clip starts with an interview, the song starts at about 2 1/2 minutes in.

Part of a two 1952 episodes of The Kate Smith Evening Hour featuring members of the Grand Ole Opry. Performing on the shows, in addition to Kate Smith, are Roy Acuff, Mother Maybelle and the Carter Sisters, Hank Williams, Sr., and others.  At least according to the info on YouTube, the second segment was Hank Williams' last television appearance.

Hank Williams - Gospel Covers

Here are a couple covers of Hank Williams' gospel songs.

Patty Griffin recorded this song, "House of Gold", on her latest album, Downtown Church. I think this is my favorite track on the album, and I have been watching for a video. This video is recorded sideways, but the audio is pretty good so I am including it.

Here are the Holmes Brothers with "I Saw the Light".

Hank Williams did not write this, but it is a song he sang. Gillian Welch and David Rawlings' version of "I'll Fly Away".

Hank Williams

To celebrate Hank William's Pulitzer Prize win last week, I am going to focus on him this week.

Today a few vidoes of him. First, a video with two songs, "Cold,Cold Heart", and a duet with Anita Carter on "I Can't Help I If I'm Still In Love With You".

Another of his most popular songs, "Hey Good Lookin".

This is a live recording, but there is no video with it. I think this is probably a radio performance. "I'll Sail My Ship Alone".

This is probably his most popular song, "I Saw the Light".
