I don't think I have posted a Chris Smither video before. Here is my favorite Smither song, "No Love Today".

My favorite track off Patty Griffin's new album, American Kid. The song is titled "Go Wherever You Wanna Go".

They Won't Believe

I am always excited when I find a Dorothy Love Coates performance that I have not seen before.  Here is Coates and the Gospel Harmonettes with "They Won't Believe".  This sounds to me like a song that she wrote, but I don't know that for a fact.

Mother

My last post was of Roger Waters and Eddie Vedder performing "Comfortably Numb", a song originally from Pink Floyd's The Wall album. Here is "Mother", another song off The Wall album, performed by Natalie Maines and Ben Harper. Maines—a Dixie Chick—just released her first solo album, and this is the title track. I am not sure if this is an appropriate song for Mother's Day weekend, but at least it is on topic.

The second song below is a Maines/Vedder duet of the James Taylor song "You Can Close Your Eyes", which I am including because this makes the second post in a row with an Eddie Vedder duet.

Time After Time

Cyndia Lauper did a great interview with Brook Gladstone for the radio show On the Media. You can see video of the entire interview here. Lauper has written the music and lyrics to the new Broadway show Kinky Boots, and has a Tony nomination for it. The interview includes a clip from this 1985 performance of Time after Time by Lauper and Patti Labelle. There are not many people will the vocal power to duet with Patti Labelle, but Cyndia does it, and this is an amazing performance.

You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go

Miley Cyrus is not someone that I have ever really listened to, but I love her cover of Bob Dylan's "You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go".  This is off the album Chimes of Freedom: The Songs of Bob Dylan Honoring 50 Years of Amnesty International.
