I almost missed this, but today would have been Gram Parsons' 70th Birthday. Despite the fact that he lived hard and died young, he had a huge influence on American music. Additionally he discovered Emmylou Harris. So here he is performing "Return of the Grievous Angel" with Emmylou. This is just audio, but the images used include his infamous Nudie suit with a cross on the back and marijuana leaves on the front.

After the Goldrush
I posted this video several years back, but it is probably my all time favorite performance of harmony singing. Plus whoever thought to add a glass harmonica to this was a genius. So here is Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris and Linda Ronstadt performing Neil Young's "After the Gold Rush".

Stephen Foster Covers
Stephen Foster—this country's first first great pop song writer—died over 150 years ago, but his songs still get covered almost more than anyone else. Here are two recent examples:
- Sammy Miller and The Congregation performing "Gentle Lena Clare"
- Emmylou Harris and Joan Baez performing "Hard Times Come Again No More"
