Still Shakin'
Pushing 80 and still shakin'. Two performances of "Whole Lotta Shakin Goin On" by Jerry Lee Lewis—1957 and 2015. Who would have ever thought he could last this long.

Here is Jerry Lee Lewis' rather rowdy performance of "Life Is Like a Mountain Railroad".

Sun Studio Tour
Sun Records Studio Tour with JM Van Eaton, the drummer on many of the hits recorded here.
I am not sure, but I think this is the "Crazy Arms" recording referred to in the video above.

Beyond the Sun
Chris Isaak released an album last year titled Beyond the Sun. It was recorded at the Sun Studio in Memphis where Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley and Jerry Lee Lewis made their early recording. Some videos related to the album.
I also posted a great video of Isaak and Stevie Nicks performing "Red River Valley" back on my 9/13/10 post.
"It's Now Or Never" & "Great Balls Of Fire"—Both songs on the album
Isaak discussing recording the album.
This song is not on the album, but I can't pass up this video of Isaak and Jerry Lee Lewis Performing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow".

We Remember the King
Elvis Presley died 33 years ago today. To mark the date here is a 1985 video of Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Roy Orbison and Carl Perkins singing "We Remember the King". Of these four only Jerry Lee Lewis is still alive. I guess his last album was appropriately titled Last Man Standing.

Jerry Lee Lewis
Today's pianist is Jerry Lee Lewis.
I think "Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin On" was Jerry Lee's first hit single in 1956
"Crazy Arms" was the first song Jerry Lee released, but I don't think it was a hit at the time.
Here is a video of "Another Place, Another Time" from his foray into country music.
Jerry Lee is in his 70's and still touring, so here a a video of a performance from last summer. This is 53 years after the first video in this post.

Rock & Roll
Since we started the week of with the beginning of Rock & Roll, I have decided to post a couple songs about Rock & Roll to end the week.
First, Tina Turner & Mick Jagger singing "It's Only Rock & Roll (But I Like It)"
Another great duet, Etta James & Chuck Berry performing "Rock & Roll Music".
I wanted to include a video of Bob Seger doing "Give Me That Old Time Rock & Roll". The only video of that I can find with decent audio, includes Tom Cruise in his underwear, so I have decided to skip that. Instead here is the audio of Jerry Lee Lewis & Jimmy Page doing the Led Zepplin song "Rock & Roll". This is from an album of duets that Jerry Lee Lewis recorded a couple years ago.
